Fly Loft Group

“Michele is both a bridge and a bridge builder. She makes visions possible, dreams reality and forces flow. A chance to work with Michele is an opportunity not to be missed.”

Thomas Schumacher ~ Producer & President, Disney Theatrical Productions

The name Fly Loft Group was inspired by my roots in the theatre. A Fly Loft is the vast space above the stage that is home to all of the scenery, lights and tools that support and surround the actors on stage, enhancing the story, the characters and their journey.

We custom design each project in close partnership with our clients, cycling between big picture thinking and practical logistics. Our collaborative approach highlights the power of face-to-face conversations and the collective wisdom that emerges when individuals gather in a facilitated group. As skilled interpreters, we support conversations to move forward productively and then translate what emerges into an integrated plan and vision for the future.

A Fly Loft is all about possibility and potential.

She soon became the Associate Producer and eventually Senior Vice President and Senior Producer overseeing The Lion King, Tarzan, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and Peter and the Starcatcher. As a young stage manager in the avant-garde world, Michele worked with many distinguished directors, composers and writers including Philip Glass, Robert Wilson, Peter Sellars, Anne Bogart, David Henry-Hwang, Eve Ensler and Julie Taymor.

Fly Loft Group works with a broad range of clients, including arts and entertainment companies, colleges and universities, corporations, non-profits and conferences. Offerings include leadership and teambuilding workshops, mentoring programs, annual retreats, creative project planning and their innovative Human Sustainability Programs.

Michele holds a BA in Theatre from the University of Vermont and divides her time between New York City and Columbia County, NY, where she also serves as wine director at a local farm-to-table restaurant.

“Whenever I hear I’m going to work with Michele Steckler, I stop worrying. I know she will provide a foundation of attentiveness, expertise, and wisdom, which makes every collaboration more successful, not to mention, more fun. She is a real treasure, and I await our next collaboration!”
